What is Oiu League?

Oiu League is a large, round-robin tournament that was established in Japan 8 years ago.
In the 3rd Oiu League held 6 years ago, there were 420 participants.
Although the league hasn't been held for some time, we have decided to revive Oiu League.
Since a lot of time has passed and the players' skills have changed significantly, we are starting from scratch.
Therefore, instead of calling it the 4th Oiu League, it will be named the "New Oiu League."

Overview of the New Oiu League

The tournament will be divided into the following classes:
To participate in the Challenger class, players must win a first to 30 battle against Piponeer (Challenger Qualifier).
The requirement to enter the Challenger Qualifier is having a maximum rating of 3500 or higher in the Switch version of Puyo Puyo eSports.
The S Class is a league where the top 4 Challengers can participate.
The Master class is for the top 12 to 24 players from the A Class.
A Class is for players who have achieved a maximum rating of 3300 or higher.
In B Class and below, players select their participation class based on their maximum rating.

The schedule is as shown in the image.

Top-Class International League

A league will be held featuring 6 top-class players from outside Japan.
In Oiu League rankings, this league is equivalent to A Class, so the top players can participate in the Master class.
All matches will have commentary and analysis.
The goal is to help more Japanese people become familiar with international players.

Selection Criteria

This time, we will use Ascension's rating system to determine the 6 players of the league.
The ratings as of Oiu League application deadline (20 October) will be used.
Those who wish to participate should join the Ascension Discord server and check the details.

Connection Issues, Tardiness, and Misconduct

Connection Issues

*Details are yet to be determined.

Tardiness

If a player does not appear within 10 minutes, they will be considered late, and the match will be canceled. The match will be rescheduled.
If the tardy party notifies the opponent and they agree, the match may proceed even if the player is more than 10 minutes late.
The decision is entirely up to the opponent. They may choose to cancel the match for the day if they wish.
If a player is late without notifying twice, they will be disqualified.
Even with notification, being late three times will result in disqualification.
*Keep in mind that both players have cleared their schedules for the match, so please be considerate.
*We apologize to those who are inconvenienced by tardiness, but rescheduling the match is preferred over giving a default win, as it may impact league standings.

Misconduct

Players who are found to be engaging in excessive misconduct on social media, trolling, disruptive behavior in the game, or harassment (depending on the severity) will be banned from Oiu League.
*Whether a ban is issued will be at the discretion of the organizer, Piponeer.
*If you feel you've caused trouble in the past or behaved poorly, please be more mindful going forward.
*Keep in mind that social media is visible to many people. Making others uncomfortable is not ideal.
